NISD CTE STUDENT RECEIVES PRESTIGIOUS TCU STEM SCHOLARS SCHOLARSHIP Hailey Williams, a senior at Byron Nelson High School and participant in the Biomedical Sciences Academy, is a 2021 recipient of the prestigious Texas Christian University STEM Scholars Scholarship. The scholarship includes 4 years of tuition, fees, books, room and board at Texas Christian University, participation in a 4-week in-residence STEM summer Enrichment Program, STEM undergraduate research/internship opportunities, and mentor/ mentee access in a field of science. This award has a financial worth of more than $285,000. As a senior Hailey has acted as a CTE ambassador for the Northwest Independent School District. She is also a captain of the Varsity Tennis Team and the President of the Student Orchestra at Byron Nelson. Hailey has also been awarded the Green Chord Award all 4 years of high school for completing over 450 volunteer hours in her local community and church. On May 14, 2021, he received his diploma from Rogers High School, Rogers, AR as one of 59 students in a class of 600 to graduate with Distinguished Honors. Josh is one of several students to receive the Regent Merit Scholarship award to Prairie View A&M University where he will be studying engineering. His scholarship will totally fund his college education. Josh’s extra-curricular activities included the following: Basketball (9-12), Academic State Basketball Champs (2017-2018), DECA (9-12), FCA (9-12), MU ALPHA THETA Math Honor Society, Homecoming Court Member (2017), Color Day Court King (2021), National Honor Society (10-12) and Rogers Honor’s Academy (10-12).
