Photos: Expansion at Extraco Events Center taking shape
Much of the work has moved to the interior of the new $32 million multipurpose expansion of the Extraco Events Center taking shape near Bosque Boulevard and Lake Air Drive. McLennan County voters approved a bond package in 2017 to fund the project, along with higher taxes on car rentals and hotel stays to pay the debt back.
A total of 27 subcontractors, including 19 based in McLennan County, have a part in the project, under the guidance of John W. Erwin General Contractor.
