NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Known today as a community staple for authentic Creole cuisine and historically as a meeting place for Civil Rights movement leaders, Dooky Chase’s Restaurant is now the set of a new series honoring its matriarch, the late Leah Chase, also known as “The Queen of Creole Cuisine.”

A drought-resistant grass developed at Auburn University is taking root at golf courses. A type of bentgrass called AU Victory was developed at Auburn's College of Agriculture. Professor Edzard van Santen began working on it following severe droughts that decimated golf courses in 1999 and 2000. The variety came out in 2015. An Oregon company acquired rights to the grass, and it's already been sold to courses including McLemore in northwest Georgia. Auburn and and the licensing company, Mountain View Seeds, hope to see the grass used internationally in prominent golf courses.
