In Fairfield, the Eagles found their rhythm with three second-quarter scores and never looked back in a District 7-4A win over their rival Blackcats.

Charles Oliver rushed 19 times for 130 yards and touchdown to spur a rugged running game for Fairfield (7-2, 4-0). Haisan Myers added 90 yards rushing and a TD, plus threw for another 123 yards and a 7-yard TD to Cam Hicks.

Fairfield pitched a shutout through three quarters before Mexia (5-4, 2-2) broke through with a 20-yard scoring pass with 5:40 to play.
