One of the greatest players in Texas Rangers history and a former No. 1 pick in the NBA draft highlight the Texas Sports Hall of Fame’s 2014 induction class.
Ivan “Pudge” Rodriguez, a 14-time all-star who won the 1999 American League MVP award for the Rangers, and Larry Johnson, an NCAA champion at UNLV who was the NBA’s Rookie of the Year for the Charlotte Hornets in 1992, head up the class. It also includes former Baylor quarterback Don Trull, former Buffalo Bills running back Thurman Thomas, Olympic track star Sanya Richards-Ross, former Texas A&M and Dallas Cowboys linebacker Dat Nguyen, University of Texas and Detroit Lions great Doug English and former Texas A&M and NFL all-pro lineman Charlie Krueger.
The class will be honored at a reception at the Sports Hall of Fame Feb. 27, 2014, followed by a banquet at the Ferrell Center. Tickets can be ordered by calling the museum at 1-800-567-9561.
